Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is a great way to stay healthy during your pregnancy.  With a weekly class that you can watch by DVD or online, you can keep physically fit and maintain your strength as you go through the changes of pregnancy.  Whether you are new to yoga or have been praciticing for years, you can experience the benefits of yoga during pregnancy.  The weekly class will focus on classic yoga poses and sequences that have been deemed safe during pregnancy.  Dr. Cook draws on his experience teaching yoga as well as his years of taking care of labor and delivery patients as an anesthesiologist.  We will show you a variety of ways to approach yoga in pregnancy depending on your current state of health.  We will also focus on props and modifications that can be added to the practice which make the practice of yoga more comfortable and safe.  We also will focus on special adaptations for special needs patients, including patients with obesity and medical problems.  After you have your baby, you will want to continue weekly classes as we help you create a life style health and wellness plan.  We will be offering weekly prenatal and post natal yoga classes on a weekly basis starting in August 2009.
